Rabindranath Studies Centre was established by University of Kalyani (Sponsored by University Grants Commission during XI Plan Period, 2010-11 to 2011-12, under scheme of Epoch Making Social Thinkers of India by Letter No. F.6-1/2004 (NFE dated July 2010) on 15th December 2010. University Authority has provided a Separate Office Room, Library and Class Room)

RABINDRANATH STUDIES CENTRE offers a Semi-Self-Financed 3+1 Months Certificate Course (‘Life And Philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore’) to 15 (Fifteen) Graduates of defferent discipline. This Course is running now.

CENTRE will also ready to offer Another 10+2 Months Certificate Course entitled‘Folk-Life, Rural Development and Enthusiastic Rabindranath’.

  3. PUBLICATIONS
    • Book
      The Book entitled ‘RABINDRANATHER CHITHHI PARUL DEVIKE’ was published in 1987 from the Publication Cell of our University. Now the Second Edition of this Book published under the Management of Rabindranath Studies Centre with the financial support of the Department of Information and Culture, West Bengal Government.
    • Research Journal
      Rabindranath Studies Centre also published his own Research Journal ‘Rabindra-Adhddhyan’ (ISSN : 2320 -5253)
  4. SEMINARS
    • Rereading Rabindranath : A Multi-Dimensional Appraoch
      (A Two Days National Level Seminar on 15-16 February 2012 collaboration with the Theatre Group Kalyani Kalamandalam)
      Speakers : Prof. Soumitra Basu, Sisirkumar Bhaduri Professor, Rabindra Bharati University, Sri Santanu Basu, Asst.-Professor, National School of Drama, New Delhi. The Seminar was divided in 4 (four) sessons.A large number of Students, Scholars, Teachers of Different Colleges participated in this National Level Seminar.
      Also a Cultural Programme on Rabindranath’s Literary works was performed in every sesson in this Seminar.
    • Rabindranath and Humanism
      (A Two Days State Level Seminar on 16-17 February 2011Collabiration with Nabadwip Vidyasagar College, Nabadwip, Nadia)
      This Seminar was Sponsored by University Grants Commission.

      The Seminar was diveded in 4 (four) sessons.A large number of Students,
      Scholars, Teachers of Different Colleges were present participated in this National Level Seminar.
    • Centenary of GITANJALI (Collaboration with Department of Bengali, K.U.)
      The Seminar was diveded in 2 (Two) sessons.

    RABINDRANATH STUDIES CENTRE has obsreved 25th Baishakh & 22nd Srab (Birth and Death-Day of Rabindranath) regularly.
  6. RESEARCH
    RABINDRANATH STUDIES CENTRE would offer Ph.D. Programme . A proposal in this regard is placed before the meeting of the Faculy Council for Post Graduate Studies. The proposal was accepted in principle. The matter was referred to Ph. D. Regulation Committee.
  7. LIBRARY
    Centre has a library in its own. Approximately 1000 (One Thousand) books of Rabindranath and on Rabindranath are there for Students, Scholars, and Rabindra-Literature-lover people.
    Several Seminars and Workshops (Collabotration with defferent Departments of University of Kalyani) are awaiting.
    RABINDRANATH STUDIES CENTRE is a well-furnished and well-equiped Centre. It has :
