CO2 Incubator (Eppendorf Cell Expert C170 )

CO2 Incubators are pH, temperature, and humidity-controlled containers and an essential requirement for growing mammalian cells in an artificial environment.

Cell culture may be used for the investigation of biological processes in animals under controlled conditions at a molecular level. It is useful in understanding biophysical and biochemical processes, cell-cell interactions, effects of pharmaceuticals and in cancer research. On a larger scale, cell culture is used to produce vaccines, recombinant proteins, biopesticides, etc.

The Eppendorf Cell Expert C170 installed at S. N. Bose Innovation Centre is a state-of-the-art incubator and has been made available for use by researchers inside the university on demand. The conditions maintained at this facility are 5% CO2 , pH 7.4, 98.6°F (37°C) temperature, and > 90% relative humidity. No exceptions to these conditions will be entertained.

Users can use this for a maximum of 15 days in continuation.
