Industry partnerships

Memoranda of Understanding

The University of Kalyani signs Memoranda of Understanding under three heads — academic, research and development, and service sector — and its partners run from industry to national laboratories to universities abroad. Agreements on record include Tata Steel, Zaney Pharma, ObjectSol, Brainities, the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Calcutta Business School, alongside ICAR–CIFRI, ICAR–NBFGR, IISER Kolkata, the Indian Institute of Petroleum at Dehradun, the Centre for Biomedical Research at Lucknow, the Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine, and the University of Łódź in Poland. What they produce is concrete: a cost-effective molecular scavenger developed with Tata Steel to strip cyanide and chloride from steel-plant wastewater; joint doctoral supervision and co-authored publications; reciprocal access to advanced instrumentation; and Erasmus+ funded semester-long student and staff mobility. For a company, an MoU is the shortest route to a standing relationship with a department — internships, sponsored projects, curriculum input and shared facilities under a single signed framework.

Alumni

The network already in industry

Kalyani University graduates work across technology, banking, pharmaceuticals, the public sector and research. The Cell keeps that network connected to the students following them.

Four ways alumni help

  • Open a recruitment channel at your organisation, or refer a role to the Cell.
  • Offer an internship or a project to a current student in your department.
  • Speak at a career counselling session or the annual Conclave.
  • Mentor a final-year cohort through interview preparation.
